About section transition

One century after the rise of the suffragettes, Sisters of Europe is a project to inspire and connect women in the Europe post #MeToo.

TELL STORIES

Our platform contains a series of interviews with 27 women in 27 different countries. Our 27 “sheroes” are famous and unknown, young and old, activists and astronauts, miners and politicians, but they all share a common goal: change. We want to shed light on new voices, new faces and new visions to document where women stand in today’s Europe.

Sisters of Europe this is also a team of 54 journalists and photographers working cross-borders, from Paris all the way to Minsk. We’ve reported from countries like Kosovo, Russia or England because we strongly believe that Europe is not only shaped by its member states, but by its neighbours as well.

RAISE ISSUES

We are convinced that European feminism has its own geography. This is why we organised four public “agoras” in different cities spread across the continent. In 2019, we were in Warsaw, ParisBerlin and Athens. During these discussions, a spectrum of issues European women are grappling with – region by region – have been tackled: from domestic violences to gender pay gap or reproductive rights.

TAKE ACTION

During Summer 2020, an online campaign asking individuals, NGO or activists for concrete proposals to improve women’s rights in Europe has been launched on social medias, under the hashtag #sistersofeurope. You can also be a part and submit your recommandations using the online form ‘Raise your voice’.
